How to Measure
You'll need a tape measure, a jack, and jack stands. Here's the step-by-step:
- Support the vehicle on jack stands with the suspension hanging at full droop (wheels hanging down as far as they'll go)
- Identify your two mounting points: one on the frame, one on the axle or control arm
- Measure the straight-line distance between the center of each mounting hole
- Measure at full droop, then order straps 1-2" shorter than that measurement. Nylon webbing stretches approximately 1" per foot under load, so the straps will reach full extension naturally. Measure at full droop, not at rest. Your suspension geometry changes dramatically through its travel, and you want to size for the worst-case (maximum droop) position.
